I accidentally deleted a folder which contained pictures which I love with all my heart (and other parts). Anyone know where I can get good recovery software??? Preferably for FREE!!

First things first, stop writing to that hard drive or stop saving or downloading files. This is what I used to recover data from a failed drive but I believe it can retrieve deleted files/data too, read up in the FAQ: http://www.restorer2000.com/ Good luck

BTW, the pro version is what you want, the basic won't give you the features you specifically need, it's well worth the 50 bucks, trust me.

There is a TON of undelete software/freeware/shareware available on the net.
Googling "File recovery" or "Free Undelete" you'll see this.

I've used the freeundelete application from OfficeRecovery<dot>com with
reasonable success but the app doit101 recommends should work too.

But the more you use your hard-drive, the less likely you'll have anything
to recover!
